From Fantasies to Reality: Celebrity Crushes

Brianna Plummer | Writer

Who hasn’t had a crush on a celebrity at least once in their lifetime, right? One of my peers sent in a “problem” they are facing, which is not dating Johnnie Guilbert. Now, we might chuckle, but let’s unpack this because many people wish they could get with their celebrity crushes too.

Crushing on someone like Johnnie Guilbert, known for his emo style, his music and humor, is totally normal. We often find ourselves drawn to people who express themselves in ways that resonate with us or represent traits we admire. It’s all about the connection we feel to their vibe, even if it’s through a screen.

Having a celebrity crush can be both thrilling and frustrating at the same time. We’ve all been there, swooning over our favorite stars. But here’s the thing, having a celebrity crush is about admiration from afar. It’s like having a little escape from reality, it's a fun way to indulge in fantasies.

However, the truth is celebrities are just regular people with cool personalities and extraordinary talents. While it’s natural to feel a connection to them through their work, it’s important to remember that they have their own lives and relationships. The chances of dating someone famous are slim. That’s the sad reality of having a celebrity crush.

While it’s fun to have a celebrity crush, remember not to let it consume your thoughts. Instead, try appreciating the amazing qualities of the people around you.
