New Year's resolution
I think that at some point in our lives, we’ve all made a New Year’s resolution. Some of us strive to eat healthier, study harder, or learn something new but, in all honesty, we usually end up failing. The most common goal that I see is exercising. Every year I see a new statistic about the massive spikes in gym memberships in January. Now while this might be the most popular resolution, it also seems to be the most easily broken. It makes me wonder if people really realize the value of daily exercise.
I made a promise to myself at the beginning of this year that I was going to keep a consistent workout schedule and stay in shape. I’ve had various periods over the last few years where I’ve faithfully gone to the gym and worked out, but this time I wanted to make it last. I found out pretty quickly that having a daily exercise routine has great benefits. I find myself being more focused, energetic and engaged in my daily activities.
I know for me I’ve always had a hard time trying to stay attentive and motivated in all of my classes. This is why I think students have a lot to gain from exercising, even if it’s just something small like taking a walk or doing some push-ups at home. I would encourage everyone to try and implement some kind of exercise routine in their daily lives.
