Words cannot express how crazy game seven of the 2025 World Series was… November 1, 2025, will go down as a day I will remember forever. It will be a cherished memory of watching the amazing conclusion of the baseball season with my older brother, and my lifelong, Dodgers-fan Dad.

My father has been a Dodger fan since he was a kid. He grew up in the Pennsylvania coal region and became a fan in 1971 when he played on a Little League team named after the Dodgers.

My older brother and I are not Dodgers fans, but while watching game seven, you didn’t need to be a fan to feel the anxiety in each inning, especially the ninth inning and onwards.

For the majority of the game, I watched it in my room via Google and its real-time updates. When the last inning (or so I thought!) started, I came down to the living room to watch the end of the game.

It was not looking good. The Blue Jays were in the lead by one run, and they just needed to get three outs to get their rings and the trophy. But then…

CRACK!

Miguel Rojas hit a homer and started the almost movie-like fever dream that would be the rest of the game!

From a collision of two Dodgers while catching a flyball in the outfield, to a closely reviewed play at the plate, which both plays by themself could’ve been game over for the Dodgers.

From the Blue Jays having the bases loaded and squandering their game-ending opportunity, to the Dodgers being put in the same situation and fumbling as well, our house was abnormally silent as hands were covering eyes, unsure if the game would end in one hit.

In the end, an excellent few innings pitched by Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and a homer hit by Will Smith sealed the Dodgers’ lead. And a double play took out two Blue Jays with one ball, making the Dodgers the champs.

Our house erupted well after midnight.

My dad celebrated, while my brother and I were there to enjoy the win too. It was probably one of the best times I’ve ever had with my dad.

And to the Dodgers, from your new fan… LET’S GO AND GET A THREE-PEAT!
