LCCC Schnecksville Location Features Recording Studio

Perhaps it's the booms and crashes of a drum set, or the instrumental track for an up-and-coming rapper, or the heartfelt lyrics sung and recorded by an aspiring pop star. This is the typical soundscape at the WXLV recording studio.
Located at the southeast corner of the Schnecksville campus, students are free to visit from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday. They can also book time slots in advance to record or practice instruments.
“It's mostly for fun, personal projects,” says Peter Sabino, studio manager. “I've recorded a couple student bands [during my time here].”
Sabino, who has managed the studio since 2019, frequently aids students with their recordings. Whether he’s helping them find the right microphone for their projects, or giving them production tips, Sabino keeps things running smoothly.
The recording studio boasts three soundproofed rooms for recording. The control room is for those who like the production aspect of music-making. It has MIDI controllers, high-quality speakers, and a Mac setup with DAWs (digital audio workstations) such as Logic and FL Studio.
Adjacent to the control room lies the mic booth, a small space where people can record vocals. For those who'd like to record or practice instruments, the live room is directly next to the control room, separated by a window. Within it are guitars, basses, a keyboard, a closet with microphones, and a drumset.
“The equipment here is better than what I have at home,” says LCCC sophomore Andrew Bennet, a frequent visitor at the studio. “I have a lovely time down here.”
Since the spring 2026 semester, he has visited the studio between classes. He is often seen playing the drum set, and using the DAW Bandlab on the Mac to produce beats.
Students, especially those who enjoy making music, are encouraged to give the studio a visit and utilize all the resources available.
