Words From the Editors
Writing has been an escape for me since I was young. I would journal every day to help me cope with daily struggles or to write my life how I wanted it to be. I have around 15 unfinished novel ideas in a notebook from my childhood. It was my dream to be a novelist, but now I want to impact the world with my words.
Starting in Journalism as a writer for my high school newspaper, I knew I had a passion for it. It wasn’t until I started editing for the Paw Print that I realized editing and working with a team of creative people is what I wanted to do with my life. There’s still that huge question of what exactly I want to be when I finish college - what I want to pursue. And while that question is constantly heavy in my head, I know I’m moving in the right direction.
I want to make a difference in the world, even if it’s not through my words. As an activist, it’s a dream of mine to share important topics and continue to fight for justice and humanity. I’ve become an outspoken person in my writing, and I think working with the Paw Print has helped that part of me come to light.
