Valentine's Day can be lonely for many. Well, specifically for those with no significant other to spend it with. In reality, you do not need to have a partner to enjoy Valentine’s Day. There are still many things you can do to show love to yourself and the people around you.

1.) Enjoy the Valentine’s candy your friends and family don’t want. Let’s be honest, they don’t need all of it anyway. Sit back, relax, and enjoy their leftovers with zero shame- maybe even while binge‑watching your favorite show.

2.) Take yourself out. Who says you need a partner to go out to a fancy dinner? Although for many of us- including myself- that might be embarrassing, we all have to spoil ourselves now and then, even if it's just going out and getting a coffee with friends.

3.) Lastly, self‑care on this day of love matters just as much as celebrating others. It’s a day to show yourself love, too. Especially if you're a college student who gets busy and forgets to take time for yourself.

So, this Valentine’s Day, I hope no one feels lonely. Because, even without a valentine, this day is still special. Showing yourself love is meaningful.
