The Nesting Box Brings Small-Batch Homemade Ice Cream to New Tripoli

A hidden sweet spot is waiting just off campus for students looking to hang out with friends or study in a new setting. The Nesting Box Creamery in New Tripoli offers locally made ice cream and a relaxed environment. 

The shop stands out because they have handcrafted artisan ice cream made to order. According to their Facebook page, The Nesting Box Creamery also offers mobile scoop services for events.

Sage Allen, one of the customers at the shop, loves coming to the Nesting Box. “If I were a college student looking for something fun to do with friends, I would definitely recommend coming here. The staff is nice and helpful, and it is a nice environment,” she said. Allen visits the shop every few months with her friends and family, and is highly satisfied with the customer service.

The Nesting Box Creamery offers the classic flavors as well as their unique ones in case you want to try a new place, but stick with a well-known flavor. Allen favors the chocolate ice cream and recommends students try the ice cream sandwiches. With their newer flavors like butterscotch, birthday cake, pumpkin gingersnap, and mocha chip, there are a variety of flavors to choose from.

While the creamery sits nestled within New Tripoli’s standard Star Plaza strip, it’s tough to miss. Vivid cones of ice cream painted on the windows with eye-catching colors, have been changed a few times to continue drawing attention to the shop.  Inside the shop is a seating area where customers can enjoy their ice cream. In addition to a few tables, there is a bar-like table with stools stretched along one of the walls.

For students looking for something simple to do with friends, a trip to The Nesting Box Creamery can be more than just a stop for ice cream. Whether it is to celebrate a passed exam or simply to survive midterms, it is the perfect spot to grab a chair, eat some ice cream, and trade the stress of classes for a sweet change of scenery.
