Road to Relaxation: The Stress-Relief Magic of Road Trips
Madison Smith | Writer
With finals coming up, it's safe to say that all of us students are feeling pretty stressed. That being said, it sometimes feels like there’s no way to decompress in the small town of Schnecksville.
Something that always seems to help me is driving. Which is why on my last day off, I packed my car and took a solo road trip to the beach. I know the beach in November doesn’t sound too practical, and it was obviously quite cold. But, sometimes it’s nice to get out for a little bit.
While New Jersey may seem like a far drive, two hours is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Besides, if the beach isn’t your calling, there are plenty of places to stop along the way. Between Trenton, New Brunswick, and Princeton, everybody is bound to find something. Personally, I made a stop in Newark to shop in the newly built American Dream Mall.
Of course, this isn’t the only road trip you could take. You could take a trip to New York City or Philadelphia, or even a longer drive to Pittsburgh or Maryland.
You don’t necessarily need to go solo, as I did, but it’s certainly just as fun as bringing friends. It’s nice to get out of our little Pennsylvania bubble, so long as you take the proper precautions to keep yourself safe. Have fun exploring!
