It’s no secret that as everyone adjusts to new classes this semester, homework is piling up.

That coupled with midterm season, puts a lot of stress on us students. While it may seem like

you need to stay up until the break of dawn each night to cross off your to-do list, that will do

much more harm than good.

Any psychologist will tell you that depriving yourself of sleep also means depriving your brain of

the energy it needs to function. Thus that all-nighter you pulled studying for your exam

was…useless. Not only that, but can cause you to be sluggish and lifeless all day, which isn’t fun for anyone.

It’s important to set aside time to complete schoolwork during the day, so you can get the rest

you need every night. A helpful tactic could be designating an hour each night to winding down

before bed. Giving yourself that time to calm down and fall asleep will save your happiness and

GPA.

Yes, you should be getting your assignments done, but not at the cost of your own well-being.

Most professors want to see you happy and healthy in class, which is why it’s essential for you

to get 8 hours of beauty sleep every night. Sweet dreams!
