New Years Resolutions
2020 wasn’t the most positive year as we all know. Leaving such a negative year made me have zero hope for the new year. Before New Years I thought what’s the point of looking forward to the new year when it’ll be exactly the same. We’re still in a pandemic which is something we can’t really change about the new year yet. But that shouldn’t stop us from setting individual goals for ourselves.
I normally don’t do new year resolutions because I’ll stick with my goals for at most a month and then I’ll give up. But this year I made it a goal of mine to not give up and to keep going. Even though we’re still stuck at home, there are still certain goals that I wanted to accomplish.
Some of my goals include reading a book a month, being active for at least 20 minutes a day, drinking more water, self-care Sundays, and spoiling myself once a month. It’s important to keep your goals as small and realistic as possible so you don’t lose motivation.
I think it’s important for everyone to give themselves something to look forward to and try to remain positive. Pick up a pencil and paper and write down some things you want to accomplish this month and year. I also created a vision board and set it as my lock screen so I can visually see my goals everyday. It’s not too late to do the things that you’ve been putting off. Now’s the perfect time to accomplish anything you wish to do.
