Local Farms Offer Fall Fun

Maddie Newman | Writer

The Lehigh Valley hosts many fall festivities, and numerous farms are joining in on the fun.

Grim’s Orchard & Family Farms, located in Breinigsville, features more than 30,000 apple trees and 17 acres of land. This farm offers numerous activities such as a corn maze, pick-your-own pumpkins, and hay ride tours.

In terms of food, Grim’s offers apple cider donuts, apple cider slushies, kettle corn, caramel apples, and more.

“I really like the kettle corn, can’t leave there without a bag,” said Angelina Moncoeur, who frequents Grim’s every year.

Hausman Fruit Farm, a Coopersburg staple, features a “family-friendly, close-knit atmosphere,” according to co-owners Justin and April Hausman. They sell their own responsibly grown produce directly to the customer and offer other staples like warm apple dumplings. Additionally, they have local breweries on site and offer cider slushies. Activities range from hayrides and pony rides to a corn maze and live music.

Seiple Farms, in Bath, offers food truck and concession stand fare. You can enjoy a hayride to the pumpkin patch, a corn maze, farm animals, and more, according to their website.

In addition to the typical fall farm activities, Savidge Farms, located in Mertztown, features an 18-hole mini golf course and barnyard cannons.

“We pride ourselves in creating a great family atmosphere at a great price for families of any size,” Savidge Farms’ website states.

Located in Bethlehem, Valley Fruits & Veggies offers a corn maze featuring a scavenger hunt, pumpkins, a barrel train, and a variety of activities for children ages 12 and under.

“Our night GLOW Maze is the best-kept secret in the Valley,” Deb Colitas, owner of Valley Fruits & Veggies says. “The best part of our farm is that we are small, family-friendly, and non-commercialized.”
