LCCC students seeking a creative outlet through dance may find a welcoming space at a local Schnecksville studio.
Steppin’ Out Academy of Dance, located at 5350 PA-873, offers a wide range of classes, regardless of experience.
“We offer ballet, tap, and jazz. We even have two ballet classes—one for beginners and another at an intermediate level with Miss Jen,” said Pamela Bath, owner of Steppin’ Out Academy.
The studio, which caters to all ages and skill levels, remains a compelling option for LCCC students despite their demanding schedules. Bath emphasized the studio’s flexibility in accommodating students' needs.
“A lot of people don’t realize we offer private lessons, so we can work around your schedule,” Bath said.
Bath envisions a future where all her students “keep dancing,” whether they pursue professional aspirations or simply enjoy dance as a personal passion.
“There are so many opportunities now for people with a dance background. That’s what’s going to help them stand out and succeed,” she said.
Although Steppin’ Out is smaller than some competitors, Bath believes that this intimate setting provides a distinct advantage.
“I’ve had students come here from larger studios with packed classes, and they tell me, ‘We’ve learned more in three weeks at Steppin’ Out than we did in seven years [at larger studios].’ And that was from the mouth of a college student,” she added.
And they aren’t the only ones who appreciate what they’ve learned at Steppin’ Out.
“Steppin’ Out has always been a welcoming place,” said Stella Bowers, an LCCC student and 17-year academy student. “Not only did it improve my dancing skill, but it also made me a better person.”
LCCC students looking to get involved may visit the studio or check out its website at www.steppinoutacademy.com.
