Being a student at Lehigh Carbon Community College makes you realize the freedom you have can also be your biggest enemy at 7:30 a.m. There’s no one forcing you to go to class, and no attendance office will call. There’s just your alarm, your warm bed, and trying to justify why missing one class won't ruin your life.
Somehow, your bed feels extra comfortable on days when you have the most important classes. You start negotiating with yourself, “I’ll just check Canvas later,” or, “Maybe class will get canceled.” Spoiler: It never does. Then, when you finally check Canvas, there’s always that one class assignment you forgot about due at the worst time possible.
But that’s the LCCC experience — most of us are balancing work and commuting to school while running on coffee and determination. We might be tired, stressed, or counting down the minutes until we can go home, but we still show up.
Deep down, we know every class and every early morning is getting us closer to something bigger, and that’s what makes it worth it.
