Megan Gizinski | Editor

Hi, everyone!
My name is Megan Gizinski, and I am elated to be one of the editors for the Spring 2026 semester!
As a Visual Media major, I honestly did not expect to take any non-required writing classes, but when Professor Heimann approached me about Newspaper Production, I knew there was no way I was not going to let this be my final class.
I was always someone who used creative writing as an outlet– I used the Paint Program on my first computer to write song lyrics, I had poems stored as text messages to myself in an old flip phone, and my notes app currently sits at a whopping 1,663 pages of scattered thoughts.
However, writing can feel vulnerable, and I put down the pen and paper for most of my adult life due to a small majority's opinions.
I took Journalism in the Spring of 2025, and Professor Heimann was so encouraging. Her comment on my final piece, “never stop writing,” repeats in my head when I put my thoughts into words on a page. I am so happy to be back in a creative space, and I feel so grateful to have rekindled my love of writing in such an encouraging and supportive environment.
To the writers– have fun, and do not be afraid to get creative! To everyone else– thanks so much for reading!
If my seventh grade English class teacher is reading this, you were right! I did become an editor! (Also, sorry for always correcting your lessons.)
