Don’t Forget Me

Time has a sense of humor, one that many don’t seem to enjoy. When you want it to speed up, it drags, but the minute you need it to slow down, it never stops.
Since the start of college, I began to feel like life has been passing me by as an adult. It’s not typically taught in a manual — It’s thrown at you, and you’re expected to know what to do.
College unites us with a different perspective than what we have experienced before. Events become a distant memory and the people you used to be close with (who were a part of your daily life), slowly become a thing of the past. And, sometimes you may wonder: Do they feel the same?
How are you supposed to cope with the fact that the things that once mattered, are starting to become more out of reach? That the people who brought you happiness are no longer there.
Getting older can be scary, but that just means we care about who we once were, the people we once loved, and where we are heading.
The fear of leaving our old lives behind may seem like a lot but it's what made us, us. And, it's okay to move on to the next chapter of your life.
