Berrier Hall Lifts Student Spirit

From free parking spaces to full access to the gym, countless activities and not one, but two basketball courts, Berrier Hall holds countless activities and opportunities. This building is filled with food, drinks, activities and opportunities for students to meet people and have fun. 

Berrier Hall is home to the LCCC Fitness Center, where students can work out between or after classes. The building also has the “CougarCade” where students can relax and play board games, Wii, or billiards. Outside the CougarCade, students can play ping-pong or use the mini basketball hoop. Upstairs, there is a dance room connected to a half-court basketball area. To get to the court or dance room, students must sign in with their ID through the gym and walk up the stairs near the windows.

     On the other side of the building is the basketball court, where LCCC holds many of its intramural sporting events. Located behind the building are a few tennis courts, which can be used if a class isn’t in session. The building gives students plenty of ways to exercise, compete or spend time with friends.

     Zach Snyder, the manager of intramural sports and wellness, has been working at LCCC since July 2025. Snyder said one of his goals is “creating more opportunities for students to get involved.”

     One example is “Fit & Flavor,” which features fitness and wellness activities with free food during the first week of each month in the fall semester. Another new feature is the Wellness Center “check-in system,” where students earn points toward prizes and are entered into raffles for prizes such as AirPods, a Theragun massager, or a JBL speaker. 

“The building has become a place where students regularly work out, play games and attend sporting events,” Snyder said.

     Lacey Timony, the manager of recreation and wellness, has been working at LCCC in her current role for two years. 

“Berrier Hall is a great place to relax and enjoy physical activity and socialize,” she said.” 

     Berrier Hall may look like just another building on campus, but there is a lot happening inside. With so many activities and opportunities available, Berrier Hall continues to give students a place to stay active, socialize and enjoy their time on campus.
