Ever since 2022, Generative Artificial Intelligence, also known as Gen AI, has become nearly unavoidable in our daily lives, and it is agonizing. Seeing soulless media stolen from real creatives churned out by a Gen-AI model, along with watching people around you lose critical thinking skills as they become more reliant on Gen AI, can become very depressing. So, I wanted to give you some ways to keep AI out of your life and remain human.

The first step to all of this is to stop using Gen AI and interacting with AI-generated content. Generative AI is trained on the words and images you give it, and people who create AI-generated content feed off your interactions. By not using Gen AI or interacting with content made by it, you make a tiny dent in its advancement. It may be small, but it is a dent nonetheless.

On the other hand, you should go out of your way to support human-made content and creativity as much as you can. For example, if you need a logo for a project you're working on, commission a freelance artist. If you do not have the funds to commission creatives, then you could always learn how to create yourself. It may be daunting at first; however, learning a new skill is far more rewarding than outsourcing the learning to an AI.
