Starting Aug. 30, and going through Sep. 3, the Great Allentown Fair will host a variety of popular musicians to continue the lasting tradition of entertaining the residents of the Lehigh Valley.

“It’s a historic venue situated right in the city of Allentown,” said Jessica Ciecwisz, the marketing and entertainment manager of the Great Allentown Fair. “ The Allentown Fair has been bringing A-list entertainers to the fairgrounds since 1956.”

With thrilling performances in the past such as Carrie Underwood, Motley Crue, and Justin Bieber, residents of the Lehigh Valley look forward to another year of artistic productions.

According to Ciecwisz, Styx and REO Speedwagon perform on Aug. 30. Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line with special guest Matt Stell are set to play Aug. 31. Nelly will appear on Sept. 1 with special guest Chingy. For Sept. 2, an artist is to be announced. Lastly, Keith Urban performs on Sept. 3.

Ciecwisz stated that the concert crowds range from 10,300 to 14,000 people. With a large crowd, Ciecwisz explained how the goal is to attract those concert goers to the Great Allentown Fair.

Because the fair and concert happen simultaneously, it does a great job of reeling the locals into both events.

Grace Shuhay, a Lehigh Carbon Community College student, previously attended the Allentown Fair. Shuhay stated that she felt inspired to attend the fair before watching “The Band Perry” perform on Aug. 31, 2012. Shuhay enjoyed her previous experience and had already purchased her ticket for the Nelly concert taking place on Sept. 1.

“I really enjoyed the environment, consisting of delicious food, good music, and tasty drinks,” said Shuhay. “My favorite part is gathering with friends and family to enjoy a good night in a beautiful community.”

Tickets are now available for purchase and are selling fast. For more information, visit the official Allentown Fair website, allentownfair.com.
