You Win With Rothrock Library

When people think about school, their mind often goes to the library. For LCCC students, our minds go to the Rothrock Library. The library may look ordinary, but there is much more than what meets the eye.
The library wasn’t always in its current location. It used to be located in the ARC, but in 2007 it was renovated and moved to its current location.
The Rothrock Library also provides inter-library loans to help students if they don’t have a book they’re looking for.
According to Rick Paterick, one of the librarians since the summer of 2000, “We have good relations with the Lehigh Valley schools and Penn State.”
Students who use inter-library loans can then get books from those universities. According to Paterick, a past student even received a book about the anatomy of a jaguar all the way from California.
Besides offering books, the library hosts many more features. There’s an art gallery, a lower level designated as the quiet section, and even a room for presenting projects. They also offer online testing spaces, a faculty office, a psychology office, and an IT office. The service desk includes a student technology help desk available for students facing technical difficulties.
Along with books and ebooks, the library contains databases, periodicals, and media written by faculty.
Next time you drive by the Rothrock Library, go inside. You will find a hidden hub of resources that truly supports LCCC students.
