To say it’s not easy being a student right now is an understatement.
When the semester began, I felt like I had been thrown into the deep end. Normally, the beginning of the semester allows for some time to ease into classes and schoolwork, but this spring has felt nearly unbearable.
Now is the time when senioritis is hitting some of us hard, and others may just be looking forward to summer. Some of us are worried about graduating into a terrible job market, or losing a job we might’ve never had to AI. For most of us, this is the first time we are witnessing our country take part in a major war, coinciding with us trying to tackle our first big adult responsibilities.
It's also an important time to focus on stress-management and checking in with yourself, and friends. Although it is easier said than done, recognizing when your brain has had enough information-overload is a good sign to put the phone down. It’s difficult to want to stay informed, but later feel like ignorance is bliss.
If you’re feeling stressed due to school or, all of the above, just breathe. Find hobbies that don’t involve technology and allow your brain a break. Education can only benefit you when you allow it to, and it’s important to remember that progress isn’t linear.
