Halloween is a very magical time. Ever since I was a kid, I've always felt there was something in the air on Halloween. Halloween night's darkness brought a scary, but also contradicting feeling of joy to my younger self.

How should adults celebrate the holiday? Here are my dos and don'ts for Halloween when you're no longer a teen.

Do - Have some candy! Buy some for yourself, since you're an adult now, and can buy things with your fun money!

Don't - Get carried away and eat too much. The fun money comes from that job you have tomorrow at eight in the morning.

Do - Dress up! Have fun and be that thing you couldn't be when you were younger, since your parents STRONGLY disapproved. I'm looking at you, mom and dad! Rebecca Black was a great costume idea when I was a kid!

Don't - Dress up in that childhood dream costume if it's going to be weird, unless you're staying in your own place! Nothing good can come from me dressing as Rebecca Black and giving away treats. If not for the idea that no one would know who I am and cause me to feel super old.

Do - Watch at least one scary or spooky movie! It's not Halloween without getting scared or seeing spooky shenanigans that take place on Halloween. My go-to for scary is Halloween, and spooky fun vibes? Hocus Pocus of course!

Don't - Be that person and play something like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre at a party with kids around. Halloween loses all its fun when kids get too scared and can't calm down. That will kill the mood.

The most important thing to do is don't let your age restrict you from enjoying one of the best holidays of the year! Happy Halloween everyone!
