As March fades into April, many students at LCCC are approaching an anxiety-filled end to the semester, with one thing at the forefront: graduation. While graduating is an exciting milestone, many students find themselves in a sort of limbo between graduation season and what comes next.

As a soon-to-be graduate, I have discovered a few ways to stay out of this limbo while preparing for the future.

First, take a breath and celebrate your win. Your hard work paid off. Finals week and graduation prep can be stressful. Taking a break can help you avoid a summer burnout. The break can be simple, such as spending time with family or friends, or something more planned, like a beach trip.

If you are transferring to a four-year institution, this is also a good time to confirm any transfers. Also, make sure to continue building your network. This is especially important for those going into the workforce after college. Your professors and the Career Development Center can be especially helpful, and make sure to look out for summer job fairs and events.

On a minor level, make sure your resume and LinkedIn are updated. You have an associate degree now! That is a big deal, and future employers will notice it.

Graduation can be overwhelming, but these simple things can help make it easier.

Congratulations to all the 2026 graduates!
