For more than 50 years, Casa Guadalupe Center (Casa) has been a source of support for Latino families living in Allentown. With a mission to promote economic empowerment, social mobility, and civic participation, Casa offers youth programs, food assistance, health resources, cultural and community activities, and senior services.

“Casa is a trusted, judgment-free place,”  Johanna Escalante, a local resident, said. “The food assistance service has helped my family tremendously, especially as a single mother of three.”

Based on their website, Casa offers a financial assistance program that helps eligible households in Lehigh County pay their water and sewer bills. The program is administered through the Dollar Energy Fund and is intended as a last‑resort option for people who are behind on payments or at risk of having their service shut off.

According to the Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) website, the student population is about 30% Latino/Hispanic, with many of them living in the Lehigh Valley.  These students may benefit from Casa Guadalupe’s services.

The center supports children, seniors, and families whether they need extra assistance, or just a place to connect.

Casa’s long‑term commitment shows how local Latino nonprofits strengthen the Lehigh Valley. As the community’s needs change, the center continues to grow and remains an essential resource for local families.
