Queen B Hits The Road For Renaissance
Jeremiah Purvis | Writer
"With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again," Beyoncé said. "I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible."
And that she did! Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour is one of the biggest and most highly anticipated music events of the year and it’s only a month away! Beyoncé will be performing in several locations including New York, London, Paris, Tokyo, and Stockholm. More than thirty-two arenas have already been sold out!
For fans of Beyoncé, this tour promises a truly unforgettable experience for one of the most immersive albums I think she’s ever released to date. Known for her stunning live performances, choreography, visuals, and fierce vocals, Beyoncé is sure to deliver a once-in-a-lifetime experience for her Beehive, more specifically her black queer fans. I will never forget waiting up until midnight July 29, 2022, for Renaissance to drop! And I can’t put into words what the album means to me, and other black queer people who often feel invisible and unheard.
The tour is sure to feature many of Beyoncé's greatest hits as well as tracks from “Black is King”, “Lemonade”, “Self-Titled”, “I Am Sasha Fierce”, “B’Day”, “Dangerously in Love”, and with a few nostalgic nods to her Destiny Child days. Many critics have deemed the Renaissance tour a chance to uplift two marginalized communities in a night of joy, and liberation.
Despite speculation about what songs will be performed first and in what order, given the album’s seamless transitions we know she’ll exceed expectations. So put on your disco cowboy hats, bedazzled pumps, and fishnet tanktops, and let the Renaissance begin!
