Women Veterans Empowered & Thriving

On the crisp morning of January 30th, I awoke up feeling congested with a cold, but as I walked across the parking lot of Lehigh Carbon Community College, a wave of gratitude washed over me. My name is Jenny Pacanowski, and I am the founder and director of Women Veterans Empowered & Thriving AND a LCCC student veteran! Today, both my successes collided with a triumphant presentation at the BIG check ceremony from the proceeds of LCCC’s Military Bingo fundraiser.

Women Veterans Empowered & Thriving is a reintegration program utilizing writing and performance to empower the veteran’s experiences and facilitate skills to THRIVE in daily life. The women veterans presented to a group of students at LCCC last spring and continue to publicly speak throughout the Lehigh Valley and beyond.

During the ceremony, Leslie Bartholomew stated, “Through the generosity of Netizen Corporation…over the last three years, the Lehigh Carbon Community College Foundation and Veterans Club, have held our annual Military BINGO event to raise funds for LCCC Veteran and Military Scholarships and a local veteran’s organization.”

On February 22nd at 7pm the group will perform their personal stories at Touchstone Theatre in downtown Bethlehem, PA.

Keep an eye out for upcoming events during Military Appreciation week April 20 to 24th and visit the LCCC Veterans Club table on February 2nd & 3rd.
